Following the previous related posts herbal remedies for summer headaches and herbs for summer headaches part 1, this post will continue and finalise this topic, discussing some last herbal remedies and a lovely bath mix

Lemon Balm – This aromatic, lemon-scented herb boosts your system, relieves nausea and indigestion, uplifts your spirit and lowers your blood pressure. Lemon balm is often used in perfumes to add a citrus scent and heighten the emotions. Drinking tea made from lemon balm has an antidepressant effect as well as helping to ease your headache, so you should find you are cured and cheerful very quickly!

Lemon balm is a very mild herb with a long list of uses that will clear up all your aches and pains

Coriander –ย Coriander is used to treat a wide range of ailments and its effect is both stimulating and refreshing. It is also mildly antiseptic. Add coriander leaves to ย foods, such as soups and salads to treat your digestive system, as poor digestion can cause headaches. The seeds can be ground into powder; you can treat your headache by mixing a quarter of a teaspoon of coriander powder into a cup of hot water with a drizzle of honey added for taste.

Add healing herbs such as rosemary and linden to your daily two litres of water to prevent headaches taking a hold

Some of these herbs can be easily grown in a small home herb garden, if this is not possible, most health stores have organic tea versions of such herbs for easier access. Fresh is best though ๐Ÿ™‚

I also find that putting a couple of drops of the mentioned herbs essential oils on a handkerchief and sniff along the day helps with headaches. I have recently tried a soothing balm for headaches recipe from everyday health book and have found it to really help reduce headaches as they start.

One last nice thing to do after a busy day or a day in the sun, take a nice relaxing bath and a restful sleep

Rose and Chamomile bath

For a relaxing bath that will help you banish a headache swiftly, try adding a simple , fragrant herbal concoction of rose and chamomile. To make you will need:

  • Handful of rose blossoms
  • handful of chamomile blossoms
  • Square thin cloth or muslin
  • 30cm piece of thin ribbon or string

Put the blossoms in the cloth and secure with a ribbon. Put the bundle below the tap as you run the bath. Relax and Enjoy !!

Have you tried any of the mentioned ย herbal remedies?
