Everyone’s nutritional requirements will vary depending on the stage of life and lifestyle. An office worker requires fewer calories than a landscape gardener whose job is more physically active.

 

Your diet must be tailored according to your daily activities to maintain a healthy weight.

 

Babies

Require a higher proportion of dietary healthy fats than adults to feed the fatty tissues of the brain

Periods of Growth

From childhood to adolescence we require plenty of carbohydrates for energy to support a higher metabolism, and extra protein to support accelerated growth

During Pregnancy

Extra calories for energy and protein are needed to support the growing baby

In old age

Older people tend to be less physically active, and thus need fewer calories

In high-pressure jobs

People in stressful jobs benefit from foods rich in calming B vitamis

 

It is very important to make healthy choices of different food types as not all food types contains the same nutritional value. Eg of different types of protein here
