My Thoughts on: Clinique – Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

As far as cleansing balms go, I have only ever used two ; Emma Hardie – Amazing Face Moringa cleansing balm and Elemental Herbology – Purify and Soothe Cleansing balm.

Side note: I have very sensitive skin, usually dry/combination, suffers from eczema (especially in spring time) and have suffered from acne breakouts on my cheeks until a couple of months ago.

Having said so, I am quite conscious when choosing facial products, and recently I have been into balm cleansers so I wanted to try something different.

As opposed to the 2 cleansing balms mentioned above this cleansing balm is fragrance free which is great for someone with sensitive skin, however I find it quite boring after a couple of months of religious use. The texture however is really nice, it is quite thick (thicker than the EH balm) but it smooths easily when applied to skin. Great at removing make up, since it is oil based (non mineral oil as far as I am aware) especially when used with a flannel.

Have been using this product daily as my evening cleanser for the past 2 months now, haven’t had a problem with it so far, the only downfall in my opinion is that it does not have any scent, however I find this extremely helpful when suffering from eczema breakouts, since fragrances tend to irritate my skin.

Final Verdict: A great cleansing balm to consider especially if you have sensitive skin or your skin gets irritated with fragrances, however it might be quite boring for continuous use. It is definitely a cleansing balm to keep in my cupboard for when my skin is most sensitive and will definitely be using this product until it hits the bottom!

Have you tried this balm? What are your thoughts on it? Do you have suggestions for other cleansing balms? I would love to try out some other cleansing balms!
